Ways to Support NCMA

From small, regular gifts to major contributions and bequests

Why community support matters

For many people in Nelson, NCMA is part of their own story. They learnt here, performed here, or later brought their children through the same doors. Some were involved in keeping the building going when it mattered. The connection many people have with NCMA is real, and it has been built over years of shared experience.

NCMA’s day to day income covers only part of what it takes to run a busy historic building and deliver education and performance programmes. Donations make the difference in practical ways. They help care for the building and facilities, support programmes that fees alone can’t sustain, and provide financial assistance so children who want to learn music aren’t turned away because of cost.

Community support is what allows NCMA to remain a place where music is made, not simply a place people once passed through.

Support NCMA in the way that’s right for you

Whether you’re making a small regular gift or considering a larger contribution, there are a number of ways to support NCMA.

125 for 125

As we mark our 125th year, you’re invited to sponsor one year from our history with a $1,000 donation. By choosing a year that matters to you, you connect your own experience of NCMA with helping ensure it remains a working home for music in Nelson for years to come.

The Foundation

Financial Assistance

Not every family can meet the full cost of music lessons, even when the interest and commitment are there. Donations to NCMA’s student financial assistance fund help remove financial barriers, so children and young people can take part in music education regardless of their circumstances.
