Keep the music playing
Make a lasting impact
NCMA is a non-profit, charitable trust. We rely on the support of Nelson City Council, key funding partners and our community to keep the music playing.
Every donation counts
Every donation that NCMA receives goes towards enhancing the experience for all users of our facilities. This may be through a tuition-fee scholarship, support to purchase instruments or creating improved facilities, programmes and resources for our students and audiences.

A gift that makes a difference
Leave a Legacy
You don’t need to be wealthy to leave a gift that will make a difference. Any size of gift will help to make music become more widely available to more people in our community. Once you have provided for your loved ones, please consider making a gift to secure the future of NCMA.
You can find out more about leaving a legacy to the NCMA in confidence, by contacting our Development and Funding Manager, Jessica St Germain on (03) 548 9477 or by email at [email protected].
If you do decide to include a gift to NCMA in your will, or have done so already, please let us know – this will give us the opportunity to thank you and show you how your gift will make a difference to us. We strongly recommend that you consult a solicitor when making or updating your will, to ensure that it is legally valid and reflects your intentions.

Reward musical excellence
Support our programmes
Every year NCMA holds a Scholarship Competition. Many of the classes are sponsored by local businesses, individuals and from funds held in trust from bequests.
Our youth orchestras, ensembles and groups are strongly subsidised by NCMA to enable large numbers of children to participate in group music activities and to deliver low cost community performances.
Because our performance groups are the public face of NCMA, sponsorship offers high profile exposure for a donor, as well as providing much needed resources for these groups.
NCMA teachers also teach voluntarily at Victory School and offer free and affordable lessons, both at Victory and NCMA.
Talk to us about the possibilities of sponsoring a performance group.

Donate or Sponsor an Instrument
To make music as accessible to as many as possible, we have a limited number of instruments that are available for our students to hire.
We always welcome the opportunity to discuss either the sponsorship of a new instrument or the donation of an instrument that is no longer used with our supporters.
Please contact Dean St Germain our Education Coordinator on (03) 548 9477 or at [email protected] to discuss current opportunities to sponsor the purchase of a new instrument.
Dean is also happy to chat to supporters who are willing to donate any unused instruments.
When you enquire about making an instrument donation, any details you can provide will help us to determine whether or not we can accept the instrument.
