About Thomas Spring
I grew up in Switzerland with a keen interest in movement and sports. For a decade, I was actively involved in a Karate club, dedicating six years to teaching.
In 1994, I relocated to Nelson and immersed myself in various health-related trainings, including the Feldenkrais method, yoga, biofeedback, and neurofeedback. Currently, I serve as an Assistant Trainer in the professional Feldenkrais training conducted in Auckland. My aim is to continuously deepen my understanding and enhance the quality of service I provide.
I am deeply intrigued by the human capacity for learning, transformation, and enhancement. Through my observations, I’ve found that creating an environment conducive to learning, where the brain and nervous system receive precise information, accelerates change and leads to enduring improvements.
Skills and expertise
My passion lies in unlocking individuals’ full potential through the transformative power of the Feldenkrais Method. Rather than merely addressing symptoms, the focus is on nurturing innate abilities to optimise performance, promote health and well-being, and prevent and recover from injuries.
The Feldenkrais Method fosters a profound understanding of movement and self-awareness, guiding individuals to explore new possibilities in their musical journey. By focusing on potential rather than problems, we uncover the root causes of limitations, facilitating lasting improvements in technique, expression, and overall musicianship.
Through personalised sessions and group classes, individuals can empower themselves to move with greater ease, efficiency, and grace, both on and off the stage. Discover your unique potential and embark on a holistic journey towards realising your musical aspirations while nurturing your body and mind.
