Katie Scott

Katie is a qualified secondary school teacher who happily works with students of all ages. Starting her musical journey at age 6, Katie offers teaching experience in brass, piano, and music theory. Piano was her first instrument, but she has a performance degree in brass playing and offers patient guidance in her teaching. Her main experience as a musician has been in through working in brass bands and musical theatre.

Katie tailors her methods to each student’s style and often consults with them about how they learn best. She welcomes all skill levels, instilling lifelong appreciation of music. She generally finds that 7 years old is a good age to start playing a brass instrument and that piano works from 5 years onwards.
