About Jessica D’Ath

Jess has over 17 years experience teaching music and vocals to people of all ages. While her passion lies firmly in musical theatre, her experience and training means that she has the knowledge to help all singers harness the techniques they need to unlock their voices, no matter what genre they want to sing.

Jess has performed as a vocalist in both professional and amateur capacities, and particularly loves working with singers who are struggling with performance anxiety.

So far her career as seen her attend the New Zealand Singing School, perform as part of the new Zealand premier of Phantom of the Opera, train and perform with Australian composer Matthew Lee in Melbourne, perform as a soloist at the rugby world cup with the Christchurch Pops Choir, and write, perform and tour her one-woman-musical “Break”.

With post graduate training in education, and extensive knowledge of vocal pedagogy learnt from some of the best teachers in the Pacific, Jess prides herself on getting the best out of all her students, no matter what their goal is.

Skills and expertise

Jess believes anyone can be taught to sing, they just need to have the drive to do the work and the patience to let it happen. She loves working with singers who love to sing, and enjoys helping people find the confidence to do so.

She offers group lessons for kids aged 5-10, individual lessons for all ages, workshops to help people overcome performance anxiety as well as frequent masterclasses during the year.
