Alongside the Nelson performance of Toiere, join New Zealand Opera for a special two-hour Vocal Workshop led by Kawiti Waetford and artists from New Zealand Opera.
Held on Saturday 27 June at 10.30am, this open session explores vocal production and vocal health through a range of practical exercises including breath work, warm-ups, diction, rehearsal process, and performance technique from rehearsal room to stage. Participants will take part in collective vocal exercises and group singing, including excerpts from Toiere, designed to build confidence, technique, and performance skills.
Open to singers with some prior vocal experience, the workshop is $25 per person (+fees), including a $5 discount on a ticket to the performance of Toiere. The session offers valuable insight into professional vocal practice in a supportive and collaborative environment.
