Lunchtime Concert: Mozart in Vienna

Enjoy a delightful programme of music by Mozart in the company of members of the Nelson Symphony Orchestra and fortepianist/conductor Andrew Ward.

This concert will attempt to evoke the atmosphere of late eighteenth-century Vienna,  through the use of a facsimile 1784 fortepiano built by Mozart’s favourite pianomaker, Johann Stein.

The two men got on extremely well and much of Mozart’s piano music was clearly written with Stein’s instruments in mind. Mozart’s Piano Concerto in A major, KV 414 will be complemented by one of his most famous works for chamber orchestra, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.

There is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy in this concert, so do come along!
