Kia Kaha for Ukraine Fundraiser & Silent Auction

Kia Kaha for Ukraine Fundraising Concert and Silent Auction

Nelson audiences are warmly invited to welcome back Roman Rudnytsky, internationally acclaimed concert pianist and graduate of New York’s renowned Juilliard School, for a special benefit performance in support of Ukraine.

Roman will be joined by some of Nelson’s outstanding local musicians — violinist Margarita Jackson, pianist Kyoko Takashima, and organist Paul Chan — who will contribute Ukrainian-inspired music to the evening’s program. Their participation adds a rich local dimension to this international concert, celebrating both global artistry and Nelson’s vibrant musical community.

Roman Rudnytsky has enjoyed an extraordinary career as a solo recitalist, orchestral soloist, and cultural ambassador, performing in 100 countries around the world. Known for his expressive interpretations and engaging stage presence, he has appeared in major concert halls across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Pacific, as well as on nearly 80 Cunard and P&O (UK) cruises. His repertoire ranges from classical masterworks to contemporary gems, combining virtuosity with deep musical insight.

Born in New York City to a distinguished Ukrainian musical family, Roman is the son of Antin Rudnytsky, noted composer, conductor, and pianist, and Maria Sokil, a celebrated Ukrainian soprano. Together they helped preserve and promote Ukrainian musical heritage abroad. Join us for a moving and memorable evening of world-class piano music, community spirit, and shared purpose — an expression of unity, artistry, and hope.

All proceeds will go toward humanitarian aid and cultural resilience projects for Ukraine. Proudly presented by the Kia Kaha for Ukraine Charitable Trust.
