Renee Maurice

Renee began playing the piano and flute at a young age. Graduating from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Music Education and Diploma in teaching, Renee then went on to teach in primary schools throughout NZ and overseas. Renee has a passion for teaching Music to preschool and primary school aged children and working alongside individuals as they begin their musical journey. She has years of experience tutoring individual flute students, supporting them to prepare for performances or examinations. New to Nelson, Renee is excited to bring her enthusiasm for music education to the NCMA community.

Renee’s philosophy centers around creating a supportive and encouraging relationship with students. Her aim is to make learning fun, while cultivating a genuine appreciation and love of learning music. As an experienced teacher of over 20 years, Renee is skilled at tailoring lessons to a students individual abilities and needs. Theory and practical along with a focus on correct technical skills and are combined to ensure a strong musical foundation.
