Jayden Cleal

Jayden began his piano journey at the age of 5, inspired by his grandmother’s love of music. After a brief move to Australia, where he received private piano tuition, he returned to New Zealand and completed his Trinity College grades 1–8, finishing in 2015.

In addition to his classical training, Jayden showcased his talents as a Smokefree Rockquest finalist for Tasman in 2014 and 2015. These achievements included performing and touring around the Tasman region, broadening his experience across musical styles.

Jayden is passionate about sharing his diverse musical background with students, inspiring them to develop their own connection to the piano.

Jayden’s teaching is rooted in his classical training, providing students with insights into different music styles and historical periods. He helps each student discover a musical style that resonates with them personally.

His teaching methods focus on developing finger dexterity and encouraging effective problem-solving techniques. Above all, Jayden believes that enjoying the learning process is key to musical growth and success.
