About Jamie Ann Gornall

Jamie Ann is a dedicated music teacher specialising in Drama and Voice. Her overarching teaching philosophy centers around providing every individual, regardless of age, the opportunity to learn, grow, and engage. Jamie Ann’s approach is tailored to each student’s unique requirements, fostering rich theatrical and musical experiences.

Jamie Ann also works as a Musical Director at Nelson Youth Theatre Company. In this role, she loves collaborating with the team and watching performers grow. This experience is especially rewarding since Jamie Ann and her children share a genuine passion for theatre, embracing the opportunity to nurture talented young actors alongside dedicated directors.

Having immigrated to New Zealand from the UK eight years ago with her family, Jamie Ann fully embraces her new life. Jamie Ann holds a strong passion for creating enriching experiences for all children, with a special focus on music and drama activities. Her dedication extends to providing care to both children and their whanau.

Skills and expertise

Jamie Ann’s musical skills encompass more than just her ability to play the piano and various woodwind instruments. She brings with her experience performing in both orchestras and theatrical productions. As well as achieving ABRSM Grade 8 certifications on her instruments, Jamie Ann has also pursued studies in Early Childhood Education, working actively within this sector for three years.
