About Caitlin Morris

Caitlin is a qualified and passionate string teacher offering professional cello tuition (beginner to ATCL Diploma level) and violin lessons (beginner to Grade 6) for students of all ages. Holding a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Practice from the New Zealand School of Music, her teaching philosophy focuses on helping every student achieve their unique musical goals in a supportive and encouraging environment. Whether you are learning for personal enjoyment or preparing for examinations and NCEA assessments, Caitlin brings years of experience guiding students on their musical journeys. As an active performer, she has appeared as a cello soloist with the Nelson Symphony, Marlborough Civic, Tawa, Wairarapa Community, and Wellington City Orchestras, as well as the Manawatū Sinfonia. Most recently, she performed the Elgar Cello Concerto with the Kapiti Concert Orchestra in 2025. In 2021, Caitlin founded the Wairarapa Youth Orchestra and successfully ran a string teaching studio there for five years. She has recently relocated to Nelson and is currently accepting new students.
