Description

It’s never too late to learn the violin! This course is designed for absolute beginners and is led by our experienced instructor Margarita. Over the course of 6 weeks, Margarita will guide you through the fundamentals of violin playing, from holding the instrument and bow correctly to mastering basic techniques and playing your first melodies. No prior experience is required, and Margarita’s patient and supportive teaching style ensures a comfortable learning environment.  Violins are available for hire from NCMA for $30 for the course duration – so please come in and see us if you need an instrument.

Members of this course will develop their skills in:

  • Proper violin posture and technique
  • Bowing techniques and control
  • Finger placement and intonation
  • Reading basic sheet music and understanding musical notation
  • Playing simple melodies
