Tom Anderson

Tom specialises in the electric guitar and strives to inspire and instil confidence in new and old players alike, demystifying tone, guitar effects, amplifiers, and electric guitar setup and maintenance. Tom has played guitar from a young age, first picking up the electric guitar at the age of 12, sparking a lifelong passion for music and going on to play and write songs with many original bands over the years. From Punk Rock to Prog Rock, and most recently Funk. Tom has performed on stages across Napier, Wellington and Nelson, and he is just getting started.

Tom aims to give students the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their own music goals, whether it be performing and composing songs for their own original groups, singers wanting to accompany themselves with the guitar, or guitarists that want to elevate their rhythm and lead playing to the next level. When it comes to Drums and Bass, Tom teaches the fundamentals and importance of rhythm and groove, how to play and communicate with other musicians, and how to let their own “voice” shine through their instruments.
