Stage One 2018
We warmly invite your school to perform on Stage One at the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts in the Nelson Arts Festival!

Be part of the Nelson Arts Festival 2018
This year Stage One has moved from the top of Trafalgar Street to the newly refurbished Nelson Centre of Musical Arts and will be held in the wonderful heritage Nelson School of Music Auditorium.
The auditorium has an international reputation for its fineacoustics and within the centre we will be able to provide a truly positive experience for your students with full support from our technical crew and access to the Centre’s full technical infrastructure.
There are no fees to perform on Stage One and because audiences also have free entry, this makes for a truly wonderful community event. We expect there to be more interest than ever in Stage One as we will not be weather dependent and our audiences will enjoy being in a warm, comfortable auditorium.
Timeline
Stage One is scheduled to run from 11am to 2pm Tuesday 23rd to Friday 26th October 2018.
Applications close Friday 14th September 2018.
The performance schedule will be finalised and advised by Friday 28th September 2018
Performance Type and Duration
A broad range of group performance genres can be accommodated including choirs, kapahaka, ukulele, rock bands, concert bands, orchestras and dance groups.

School’s may video performances for assessment purposes.
What You Need To Provide
Students should bring their own instruments and bespoke instrument amplifiers, if they do not want to use those provided. However it should be noted that we will control amplifier levels at all times.
