Chroma Chamber Choir boldly go conductorless for this concert of some of their favourite a cappella choral works from the Renaissance to the 21st Century. They will sing Byrd’s much loved Ave Verum Corpus, the haunting Hear My Prayer by Purcell, Stanford’s ethereal The Blue Bird, as well as works by Tallis, Victoria, Rheinberger and Bruckner. Among the contemporary pieces are Lauridsen’s moving O Magnum Mysterium and Whitacre’s Sleep.
Chroma Chamber Choir is a small choir dedicated to singing choral music from the Renaissance to the present day.
