NCMA’s Lunchtime Concert Series: Michael Tsalka Solo Recital
- This event has passed.

NCMA Artist in Residence, Michael Tsalka takes to the stage for his second solo lunchtime concert where he will perform J.S. Bach, The Art of Fugue BWV 1080
The Art of Fugue, BWV 1080, is an incomplete work by Johann Sebastian Bach. It was most likely started at the beginning of the 1740s, if not earlier. It is one of the most challenging and intense keyboard works of all time.
Written in the last decade of his life, The Art of Fugue is the culmination of Bach’s experimentation with monothematic instrumental works.
This work consists of 14 fugues and 4 canons in D minor, each using some variation of a single principal subject, and generally ordered to increase in complexity.
NCMA’s Lunchtime Concert Series is proudly sponsored by Nelson Pine Industries
