Hard bop is a genre of jazz, an extension and at the same time an antithesis of the bebop.
The hard bop jazz started to become popular in the mid -1950s in New York and Detroit and soon it was evident the captivating quality of this new genre which was more essential and directly related to blues and soul dropping all the virtuosity and complexity of the bebop era.
Two perfect examples of hard bop musicians were Clifford Brown and Art Farmer. Raffaele and Nick will take you to this musical journey exploring their era and ageless music.
