Raffaele was born in Faenza, Italy. He completed his musical studies at the Conservatory of Music Fratelli Malerbi in Lugo, Italy under the guidance of Professor Marco Tampieri, a prominent teacher at national and European level.
After a period of study in the US and some time back in Italy playing regularly with a popular dance orchestra, Raffaele moved to Nelson where he collaborates with the Nelson Symphony Orchestra and Nelson City Brass.

Arthur Honegger: Intrada (Hans Gansch)
Oskar Bohme: concerto for trumpet and orchestra (adapted for piano)
J.B Arban: variation on a theme from Norma
John Williams: a movement from the concerto for trumpet and orchestra (adapted for piano)
