Chamber Music New Zealand presents SEPTURA
- This event has passed.

Redefining brass chamber music through the uniquely expressive sound of the brass septet, Septura brings together London’s leading players in a programme of bright and bold virtuosity. This is brass playing at its highest level.
The brass septet is a new musical configuration, with Septura creating a parallel universe in which, in the world of chamber music, the brass septet rules. The piano’s rich repertoire is tempting for transcribers, and Rachmaninov‘s Duets, Debussy’s Préludes and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition are certainly no exception.
Images inspire a huge range of colour from these composers and using all the techniques in Septura’s vast arsenal these are brightly illuminated. In their second programme Septura explore a great transatlantic relationship, charting a course from Debussy’s Préludes, through Ravel’s Mother Goose, to his friend Gershwin’s Piano Preludes, Songbook and iconic An American in Paris, especially arranged for brass and solo car-horns.
