Chamber Music New Zealand presents JENNIFER STUMM with Te Kōkī Trio
- This event has passed.

Enter a world of secrets and hidden messages with the captivating Te Kōkī Trio and one of the most dynamic violists of her generation, Jennifer Stumm.
Stumm has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic and London’s Wigmore Hall, and is currently International Chair of Viola Studies at the Royal College of Music, London.
With a Chamber Music New Zealand commission by composer Michael Williams, the programme offers layers of covert communiques. In particular Stumm notes: “With Brahms Piano Quartet No. 3 in C minor there is an interesting theme around secrets and hidden messages, since that piece is full of them.
There are “Clara” themes as a tribute to Clara Schumann. and quotes from Mendelssohn. The whole piece telling the story of Werther is thought a metaphor for Schumann throwing himself into the Rhine.”
