Description

Our Preschool Music (3-5 years) class builds on the skills developed in our engaging Preschool Music (18 months-3 years) course. Led by our experienced instructor, students will continue to develop their rhythm, vocals, and physical skills through singing, movement, and the use of percussion instruments and other tactile props. The course utilises a variety of music genres, from classical to world music, to encourage musical exploration and growth. As students progress, they will be introduced to more complex musical notation and may have the opportunity to play instruments such as recorders. Join us for a fun and interactive learning experience that fosters a love for music.

Students will cover:

  • Development of rhythmic skills through movement and percussion instruments
  • Introduction to singing and vocal skills
  • Creativity through musical exploration and play
  • Physical coordination and gross motor skill development through movement activities
  • Introduction to simple musical notation and concepts
  • Exposure to various genres of music, including classical and children’s music by New Zealand composers
  • Development of listening skills and musical memory
  • Introduction to basic instruments such as recorders as children progress
