Maria Koleff





Maria began learning the piano at the age of 8 from Anne Shearer and received her Performance Diploma in 2016. In 2014 she was part of Waimea College’s orchestra and played for the show West Side Story, loving every part of it. She then went on to play for Thoroughly Modern Millie and Mamma Mia productions.

Maria has accompanying experience playing for choir and many students for their graded exams. As a teacher of 3 years, she enjoys being able to share her love of music with others and helping them progress in their musical ability.

Skills and expertise

Maria’s ultimate goal is to help build confidence and musical knowledge in her students, so that they are able to learn pieces on their own.

Her lessons are divided into different concepts: theory, technique, pieces and listening.
She enjoys teaching a variety of genres including; classical, jazz and pop and welcomes all ages, teaching up to grade 5 level.
