Biography

Juliet grew up in Nelson, studying through the Nelson School of Music. Whilst a student here, she was awarded runner-up in the PACANZ National Young Performer competition, was a finalist in the NZST Chamber Music Contest, and first begun participating in the Nelson Adams Summer School.  Juliet has studied with Christchurch teacher Stephen Larsen, and in 2008 was awarded a Dame Malvina Major Arts Excellence Award to study with Polish violinist, Jan Tawroszewicz. Juliet has 17 years teaching experience.

Skills and expertise

Juliet believes her time as a young student in Nelson has had a significant influence on her approach to teaching. She encourages her students to make the most of opportunities to participate in student ensembles and concerts, to support and inspire one another and to positively tackle challenges. She wishes to give her students the same sound musical and technical foundation that she was given.
