News from the Nelson Guitar Orchestra

The Nelson Guitar Orchestra have been working hard on new repertoire over the last couple of terms, including the three movement suite by Australian composer Paul Svoboda, ‘Life’s a Beach’. Lovely music with complex syncopations of melody and rhythm.

The orchestra, which has been going for ten years now, is always keen to take up the challenger of a public performance. A challenge which is never easy but which lets us know, often dramatically, just where we are and more importantly, where we have come from.

On Sunday 1st December, the orchestra gave three performances. 3pm at Oakwoods Retirement Village. 4pm at Stillwater Lifecare Village and 6pm at our end of year NCMA student concert.

The orchestra’s final performance for the year on Friday 6th December at the Orchestral Pathways concert.
